At the outset of this mode, the player only has very basic units and structures available for each faction, and as each scenario is completed, a new unit or structure is unlocked for use in all subsequent scenarios. Each faction has a new campaign and the new campaign following the story of the Empire's commando Yuriko Omega. The campaigns of Red Alert 3: Uprising pick up where the original game left off. The official explanation for the removal of multiplayer is that the development team wanted the new units to be so powerful that they would have trashed Red Alert 3's original competitive multiplayer balance. In exchange, it strips out all multiplayer, including Red Alert 3's signature campaign coop.
